For each of the 281 models we take real-world consumption (kWh/100 km, with a winter uplift) and multiply it by a blended electricity price of 80% home charging (€0.35/kWh) and 20% DC fast-charging (€0.55/kWh). That gives cost per 100 km, annual cost and — adding depreciation, insurance and maintenance — the 5-year total cost of ownership.

Home is almost always cheaper: a home wallbox runs around €0.35/kWh, while public DC fast-chargers are closer to €0.55/kWh or more. Access to home charging is the single biggest lever on running cost.

Yes. At −5 °C, motorway speeds and the heater running, a realistic figure is about 28% below WLTP (ADAC and Spritmonitor data). Every detail page shows the estimated winter range for that model.
On energy almost always: a petrol car at 7 L/100 km and €1.75/L costs about €12 per 100 km — usually more than double an efficient EV. On purchase price it depends on the model and incentives; our 5-year figure accounts for both.
