The best scenario depends on your partner's employment type. If both partners are civil servants, both are capped at EUR 1,800 Elterngeld. In Saxony, your Beihilfe rate remains unchanged during Elternzeit. The key difference is that the employer's PKV contribution pauses — budget for the full premium. Children are typically covered at 80% Beihilfe.
