Steam Library Value Calculator

Result

1,500.00

Result: 1,500.00

A hundred games at an average of 15 make a library worth 1500. That is retail value, not what you paid: sales, bundles and gifts usually put actual spending far below it. Divide the value by your total hours to get the cost per hour — 1500 over 2000 hours is 0.75 an hour.

What this number means

Shelf value, not what you paid

The result multiplies your game count by a full price, and sales, bundles and gifts nearly always put actual spending well below it. Enter the average price you paid if you want the spending figure instead.

One price per game, DLC not included

The calculator counts base games at one price each, so add-ons only show up if you build them into the average. Raise the average price when the library is DLC-heavy.

Cost per hour is the more useful number

Divide the library value by your total hours played to see what the money bought. A library worth 1500 with 2000 hours on it costs 0.75 an hour.

Steam's lowest price tier, as checked

The Steamworks pricing page linked below names the 0.99 USD tier as the lowest base price a product can carry, checked on 2026-08-25. Store pricing rules change, and averages below that tier come from discounts and bundles rather than list prices.

Commonly misread

This number is how much I have spent on Steam.

It is the retail value of the library. Sales, bundles and gifts usually put real spending far below it.

My library holds plenty of DLC, so the value covers that as well.

Only base games are counted, one price each. Fold add-ons into the average price yourself.

A library worth 1500 was money thrown away.

Cost per hour answers that, not the total. Spread over 2000 hours, 1500 works out at 0.75 an hour.

Questions

How is my Steam library value calculated?

The number of games in your library is multiplied by the average price per game. That gives the estimated retail value of the whole library at current or purchase prices. It counts base games, one price each.

What does cost per hour mean?

Cost per hour is the library value divided by your total hours played, and it is the figure that says whether the money bought you anything. A library worth 1500 with 2000 hours on it costs 0.75 an hour. The lower the number, the more play each unit of currency bought.

Is library value the same as what I spent?

No. Library value uses shelf prices, while what you actually spent is usually much lower thanks to sales, bundles and gifts. Enter the average price you paid instead of the full price if you want the spending figure.

Does the value include DLC?

Not unless you build it into the average price. The calculator counts one price per game, and some titles carry more in add-ons than in the base game. Raise the average price if your library is DLC-heavy.

How can I check the real value of my library?

SteamDB's calculator reads a public Steam profile and adds up the current store price of every game on it. It also reports total playtime and price per hour. Use it when you want the exact figure rather than an estimate from an average.
