Editorial Standards
These rules apply to every calculator on this site, without exception.
Every number has a source
Each figure a calculator uses — a formula constant, a threshold, a conversion factor — is tied to a source URL and the date it was last checked. If a source goes stale, the number gets re-verified or the calculator gets flagged.
Test cases come from the source, never the formula
A calculator’s test cases are taken from its cited source. They are never derived by running the calculator’s own formula backwards — that only checks that the code agrees with itself, not that it is correct.
Explanation text is capped, on purpose
Any explanation text is limited to 250 words. The build fails if a calculator goes over. The calculator is the point; the words around it are not supposed to compete with it for space.
No stars, no ads, no carousels
This site carries no star ratings, no AggregateRating markup, no advertising (including no reserved ad space), and no content carousels. Review-snippet data on the previous version of this site showed impressions with a star rating and zero clicks from it — stars without honesty behind them are just risk.
