Commonly misread
A pack a day is small change.
At 12 a pack that is 4380 in a year and 43800 over a decade. The daily figure hides the size of the yearly one.
The yearly total will still hold next year.
It assumes the price and the number of cigarettes stay exactly where they are today. Change either one and the total moves with it.
Pack size does not change the result.
Packs per day is cigarettes per day divided by pack size, so it changes everything. Twenty-five a day from a 25-pack at 15 comes to 5475 a year.

How do I work out the cost of smoking?
Divide the cigarettes you smoke a day by the pack size to get packs per day, then multiply by the price per pack and by 365. Someone smoking 20 a day from a 20-pack at 12 per pack spends 12 a day and 4380 a year.
What currency does the calculator use?
Whatever currency you enter. The result carries no currency of its own: type the price per pack in euros, dollars, pounds or francs, and the yearly cost comes back in that same currency.
How many cigarettes are in a pack?
