Multiply the gigahertz figure by 1000, so a 1 GHz clock is 1000 MHz and 1,000,000 kHz. Every SI step up — kHz, MHz, GHz, THz — multiplies by 1000, and every step down divides by 1000.
One hertz is one cycle per second, a count of how often a repeating event happens. A 50 Hz mains supply alternates fifty times a second, and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal oscillates 2.4 billion times a second.
Multiply by 60, because rpm counts cycles per minute while hertz counts them per second. So 1 Hz is 60 rpm, and 60 rpm is back to 1 Hz. A turntable at 33.3 rpm turns at about 0.56 Hz.
Audio uses Hz and kHz, since human hearing spans roughly 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and FM radio sits at 88 to 108 MHz. Processor clocks and Wi-Fi are quoted in GHz, and light is in THz. Rotating things — engines, fans, turntables — are given in rpm.
