Result: 26Enter your date of birth and pick a unit: completed years, completed months, or days lived. Someone born on 15 March 1990 is 36 years old on 12 June 2026 — that is 434 months, or 13,238 days. The second field starts at today, so change it to ask about any other day.

Chronological age is the elapsed time between a date of birth and a reference day — the definition used in medicine, law and everyday life, as distinct from biological age or how old you feel. This calculator gives it in one unit at a time: completed years, completed months, or days lived. The naive approach divides total days by 365.25, which produces fractional years and ignores the shape of the calendar. This one counts whole calendar steps instead. A month ends on the same day number it started on, clamped to the length of the landing month, so 31 January plus one month lands on 28 February in a non-leap year. If the reference day falls before that clamped day, the month is not yet complete and is not counted. Whole years are then the completed months divided by twelve. Someone born on 15 March 1990 is 36 years old on 12 June 2026 — or 434 completed months, or 13,238 days lived. The caveat that matters most is that those three units are not rounded views of one another. Years and months both discard the remainder, so a person one day short of a birthday still reads as the year before. Days lived is a plain count, and it is the only one of the three that changes every morning.
From 31 January, 28 February is one full month, and 1 March is one month and one day. That clamping is what stops month counts from drifting.
Years, completed months and total days are the same span expressed three ways. Switch the unit rather than looking for a second calculator.
A negative age has no sensible reading, so the result stops at zero instead of counting backwards.
A 29 February birthday needs a special case.
Completed years and months count on without one, because the clamping already handles it. From 2000-02-29 to 2028-02-28 is 27 years and 11 months.
Total days is just years times 365.
Leap days are counted one by one. Over 36 years that is nine days the shortcut silently drops.

Set the unit to days lived and the calculator counts every calendar day, leap days included. Someone born on 15 March 1990 has lived 13,238 days by 12 June 2026.
Yes — the second field starts at today, and any past or future day may go in instead. Watch out on a page loaded without JavaScript: it shows the day the site was last built, not today.
Like every other birthday. A month runs to the same day number, clamped to the length of the target month, so 29 February 2000 to 28 February 2028 is 27 years and 11 months, and one day later it turns 28.
Because a page has one answer, and “434 months” is a whole number, while “2 months” on its own is only the remainder of the years. Switch the unit to read the same span the other way.
Yes, by one day each time one falls inside your lifetime. Two people born a year apart differ by 365 or 366 days depending on whether a 29 February lies between their birthdays.
It is your chronological age — the calendar distance from your date of birth. Biological age and how old you feel are different things and are not measured here.
